Memories & Candles
My heart and mind can not believe that Judy is nolonger with us. She was a most precious person to so many, just knowing her filled many lives with much joy and happiness, especially mine.
Words just cannot convey the sorrow that is felt by so many, but please know that she is always in our prayers.
My personal sympathy goes to her beloved family and her many friends.
I first got to know Judy through her beautiful hand painted canvases especially her

Judy was my first e-friend, and my "best" e-friend. I was so lucky to have her advice and designs to re-start my needlepoint hobby. We also shared our grief, her over her Madeline, and I had lost my son to cancer shortly before that. We helped each other! Then I found out everyone thought of Judy as their best e-friend, and I said "Wow"!! How many people can do that with hundreds of others. What a special lady.
To her family

I came across Judy's blog a few weeks ago and saw the most beautiful Chinese needlepoint piece, one based on a bowl she received from her son. I wrote her to ask if it was still available because I had lived in China and thought it was the prettiest Chinese needlepoint piece I had ever seen. Amazingly, she wrote back and thanked me for my interest. We had a brief internet exchange and she explained that the piece was no

My twin sister and I (La Verne and La Vonne Ashton) attended school from the first grade through 3rd grade with Jane at Alta Vista in Abilene and then later at South Junior High and Abilene High. She was a very sweet person and very pretty. I am sure she will be missed and our prayers go out to the family at this time for healing.

The last that I heard from Judy was on January 20th when she sent me a copy of an old photo of her parents. She had first contacted me through the Classmates web site when she found that I was at Abilene High when she was. She was a sophmore when I was a senior. I told her that I remembered her from back then. We found that we had a lot of friends in common. We were surprised to

I met Judy shortly after moving here eleven years ago. We swiftly became supporters of each others art. She was always full of praise and happy to still be stitching up a storm. Someone wrote that the whirlwind has left Texas, she would have liked that. I will miss her.

I only knew Judy online and through her writings. But my heart is saddened to hear of her passing. I am certain her friends and family are grieving and I feel for them. Such a tremendous loss.

Judy and I had such a great friendship...how much fun we had over many, many hours sharing our love of color, pattern, design, and stitching.
We told each other our troubles and she was always understanding, supportive, and funny. I grew to love her very dearly as she encouraged me to expand my artistic and professional horizons, giving me confidence and friendly advice.
I miss her....Judy, now you can stitch with light!

I discovered Judy's blogs Possibilities and Freebies a couple of years ago and always enjoyed reading them. She was a fine designer and I loved her use of color. I will miss reading her posts, she was always living life to the fullest with her designs and art. I wish I had won one of her Talavera fish canvases. I extend my sympathy to her family.
